Athens Airport Car Rental – No Credit Card, No Deposit
After a flight, the last thing you want is a queue at a rental desk and a few hundred euros blocked on a credit card. With 888 Car Rentals we meet you at Athens International Airport (Eleftherios Venizelos) with your car. You don't need a credit card, and with full insurance with zero excess you don't leave a deposit either.
How airport pickup works
- Book online and choose Athens Airport as your pickup location.
- Send us your flight number and arrival time on WhatsApp, so we can plan the handover around your arrival.
- We meet you at the airport with the car, check it together with you and hand over the keys.
- At the end of your trip, return the car at the drop-off point you chose when booking — the airport too, if you are flying out.
Any delivery fee is shown during booking when you choose the pickup location, so you see the full price before you confirm.
No credit card, no deposit
You don't need a credit card. Payment is made in advance, in cash or by card, and for identification you only need a valid passport or national ID.
For a small daily amount you can choose full insurance with zero excess, and then no deposit is required. Otherwise, drivers aged 21 and over get CDW insurance with an excess free of charge; the excess is paid as a refundable deposit and returned after the car is inspected on delivery. Drivers aged 18–20 are covered by basic insurance.
Documents to have with you
- Your passport or national ID card.
- Your driving licence, issued at least one year ago.
- An International Driving Permit (IDP) if your licence was issued outside the EU.
Keep them in your hand luggage, so everything is ready when we meet you.
Mileage and fuel
- Up to 150 km per day is included; extra kilometres are charged at €0.25/km on return.
- Planning long drives around the mainland? Add the unlimited mileage package for a small extra charge.
- Return the car with the same fuel level as at pickup. Less fuel is charged, and there is no refund for extra fuel.
Choosing your car
Our 16 cars cost from €60 to €150 per day — from city cars like the Toyota Yaris Hybrid to premium models like the Mercedes A250 E AMG Line — and every one has an automatic gearbox, which makes the first drive after a long flight a lot easier.

Frequently asked questions
Do I need a credit card to rent a car?
No. A credit or debit card is not required. Payment must be made in advance, either in cash or by card. You only need a valid ID (passport or national ID).
Is a deposit required?
With the full insurance option with zero excess, no deposit is required. Otherwise, a refundable deposit may be requested depending on the vehicle category or driving experience, which is returned after the inspection upon delivery.
What driver's license do I need?
A valid driver's license issued at least one year ago. Citizens of non-EU countries must also have a valid international driver's license.
Is there a mileage limit?
Yes, the rental price includes up to 150 km per day (any additional kilometers are charged at €0.25/km upon return). You can also add an unlimited mileage package for a small extra charge.
What is the fuel policy?
Return the vehicle with the same fuel level as at pickup. Less fuel will be charged; no refund for extra fuel.
